The Vohwinkel station is connected via the Vohwinkeler Strasse with the Korkenziehertrasse (corkscrew route) in Solingen. The former railway line passes the historic centre of Solingen-Gräfrath, which is home to the German Blade Museum. From here, you can quickly get to many other attractions. It leads through the middle of the city, but also offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
From the impressive three-city panorama at the Theegartener Kopf vantage point, the trail takes us over the Bergbahntrasse (mountain railway route) down into the valley, along the line of the former Wuppertal Ronsdorf tram. For those looking for unique experiences, there is the route through the Müngsten Bridge park under Germany’s highest railway bridge, and the suspension railway across the Wupper river. At Schloss Burg castle, the cable car transports you uphill. The Balkan route then leads up to Wermelskirchen where it then carries on to Remscheid-Lennep.
